Beloved, I am glad to share with you today the above theme from Mark 11.2. In fact, the path of the Lord Jesus is drawing to a close. He made his solemn entry into Jerusalem and went to the temple. And although on the way that led him to the cross, Jesus had to enter as king in Jerusalem. The revelation on his mount was therefore characteristic of his kingship, for the Lord God wanted him to receive from the people a testimony that this rejected Savior was truly their king, and this testimony increased the responsibility of the Jews and left them without excuse.

This royal entry as the fulfillment of the prophecy of Za 9.9, is quoted in these terms in Mt 21.5: “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ” Jesus is king, and receives testimony as such. Therefore, as they approached Jerusalem, Bethphage and Bethany, towards the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to them: “ Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’ ” The disciples having gone, found the colt tied up outside by a doorway around the path, and they untied it.

For the disciples found everything as the Lord had told them. So they brought him the colt, on which they put their clothes, so that Jesus could sit on it. Indeed, “Some of those who were there said to them, What are you doing? why are you untying this colt? They answered as Jesus had said. And we let them go. They brought the colt to Jesus, and threw their clothes on it, and he sat on it.

Many people spread their clothes on the road, and others spread branches which they cut in the fields. This reception shows how much his testimony had affected the hearts of the simple. This is why the Lord God wanted this reception to take place in this way. And those who preceded and those who followed Jesus cried out: Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed be the kingdom that is coming, the kingdom of David our father! Hosanna in the high places! ” Indeed, the kingdom is more simply presented as such: “the kingdom of our father David.”

And “Hosanna” means: “Save, please”. Indeed, it is the prayer that, in their anguish in the last days, the rest of the Jewish people will present to the Lord to obtain his deliverance. He will say, “The Lord is our King; he will save us “(Isa 33.22), and in Psalm 118.25:” O Lord, grant salvation “. And it was under the action of the Spirit of God that the disciples and the crowds acclaimed Jesus as king; for, shortly afterwards, the void formed around him and at one point there was only the sign of Pilate on the cross to bear witness to the kingship of Christ in the presence of the people who exclaimed: “We have no king but Caesar! “(Jn 19.15, 20).

Even today the opportunity presents itself to receive the despised and hated Lord Jesus. For this he must first be accepted as Savior, then he will be able to become the host of the heart, appreciated more than anything here below, since he alone has brought rest and peace to the conscience worked and loaded with heavy guilt. .

For we are at the last days when Jesus knocks at the door of the heart; he wants to enter in order to pour into it an eternal peace and happiness in the enjoyment of his communion. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me” (Rev 3:20). Indeed, it is important to open the door of his heart while the time is right, for the time is fast approaching, when God himself will close another door, that of grace, on which it will be useless to knock.

Then the Lord Jesus entered Jerusalem, into the temple. When he had considered everything, as it was already late, he went to Bethany with the twelve. With what dignity the Lord Jesus, as Judge of all things, now takes cognizance of all that was done in the temple, and leaves it without saying anything! Indeed, the Lord had visited his temple, as he had entered the city on the colt of a donkey on which no man had ever sat.

The following verses have been compiled for your edification and put together to facilitate your better understanding:

  • Divine Omniscience

Jn 2.24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people; Jn 16.30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God”; Jn 21.17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep; Ac 1.24 Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen.

  • Divine priority over all divine possessions:

Nb 3.13 for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They are to be mine. I am the LORD.” Dt 26.2 take some of the firstfruits of all that you produce from the soil of the land the LORD your God is giving you and put them in a basket. Then go to the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for his Name; Mt 6.33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

  • Friendship of Christ

Jn 11.5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus; Jn 11.35-36 Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”; Jn 13.23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him.; Jn 15.15  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

  • Examples of obedience to Christ

Mt 4.20 At once they left their nets and followed him; Mt 7.24  “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock; Mt 9.9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him; Mt 21.6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them; Mt 26.19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover; Luke 5.5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” Luke 6.47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like; Jn 2.7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim; Jn 11.29  When Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him; Jn 14.21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” Jn 21.6 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”

From all of the above we note that the Lord Jesus was to enter Jerusalem as king. For the revelation on his mount was characteristic of his kingship, and the Lord God wanted him to receive from the people a testimony that this rejected Savior was truly their king, and that testimony increased the responsibility of the Jews and left them without excuse. This reception shows how much his testimony had affected the hearts of the simple. For we are at the last days when Jesus knocks at the door of the heart; he wants to enter in order to pour into it an eternal peace and happiness in the enjoyment of his communion. For he said: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Indeed, it’s important to open the door of one’s heart while time is right, for time is fast approaching, when God himself will close another door, that of grace, on which it will be useless to knock. Our prayers support you all in your efforts to already open your hearts to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the only path to the Father.

PRAYER OF ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR

I now invite anyone who wants to become a new creation by walking in the truth, to pray with me as follows:

Lord Jesus, I have long walked in the lusts of the world ignoring your love for humans. I acknowledge that I have sinned against you and ask forgiveness for all my sins, because today I have decided to give you my life by taking you as my Lord and personal Savior. I acknowledge that you died on the cross of Calvary and that you rose from the dead for me.

I am now saved and born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead me each day to eternal life you give to all who obey your Word. Reveal to me and strengthen my heart and my faith so that your light may shine in my life right now.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for accepting me in your divine family so that I too can contemplate the wonders of your kingdom.

I will now choose a nearby waterpoint to baptize myself by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

To you all worship, power, and glory, now and forever and ever. Amen!

I would be glad to respond to your queries and comments if necessary, before sharing with you next week the teaching on the power of faith: the cursed fig tree.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you profusely.

David Feze, Servant of the Almighty God.
