Beloved, I am glad to share with you today about the Word of life. It is the true food for the soul of the Christian. It is materialized by the Holy Bible,  and represents for him who believes, a lamp at his feet and a light on his path.

This is an opportunity to thank once again all those who allowed it through hard work, to be passed on to us as we have it today.

The word of life is pronounced by the Lord Jesus. His are spirit and life. For it’s the Holy Spirit of which he is fully filled and which, through his mouth, that regenerates souls and communicates life. And this requires the soul to be open to the light and to the life-giving power of the Spirit, for without it, the flesh serves no purpose. Even his own flesh only vivifies by the Spirit, which makes it easier to understand the incarnation, his sacrifice, and our union with him. That’s why it is written in John 6.63: “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”

As a matter of fact, the carnal disposition of the corrupted heart of man leads him to take the words of Christ in a singularly literal sense. It is important then to understand what Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 3.6: “He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. It is the ministry of the new covenant, which can be compared to that of the old covenant, especially characterized by the letter, meaning the law of Moses, as opposed to the Spirit, and the Gospel. And the two ministries are complementary because the law kills to vivify those who repent.

Moreover, this new life, its fruits and all what we have, all what we are, is a free gift of God, because the means by which he opened to us this inexhaustible source of graces, is reconciliation that he accomplished in Christ. And we read this in 2 Corinthians 5:18: “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” For if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have gone away, and all things have become new.

As a result, the new covenant is superior to the old one, and its service more excellent, not only because the promises upon which it was made are more complete, but also because their fulfillment is under the new covenant and offered to believers for which everything has been accomplished. It is then clearer to understand what is written in Hebrews 8: 6 and 8: ” 6 But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. 8 But God found fault with the people and said : “The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.”

Already, during his temptation, Jesus made a strong statement that could only evade the devil, when he says in Matthew 4: 4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

That’s also why the Lord sent his angel to open the prison gates during the night to allow the apostles to go and announce important news far superior to the miracle that occurred; in order to demonstrate the place of the word of life in the evangelization process. Thus the following scriptures in Acts 5:20, “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life”.

And all actions taken by Christians should be done without murmuring or hesitation, as written in Philippians 2:15 “so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky , bearing the word of life “. That’s why we became the first fruits of his creatures, as written in James 1.18: “He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.”

And it’s through obedience and fraternal love that we come to be regenerated by the word of life, as Apostle Peter recalls in 1 Peter 1: 22-25: ”  22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”And this is the word that was preached to you. “

Finally, let’s take the case of Nicodemus to end this sharing, on his encounter with the Lord Jesus, to better understand the link between Spirit and life: it is written in John 3.5-9: “Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” 9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.” And verses 14-17 explain to him the parable: “14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. “

Our prayers are with you to strengthen you in your efforts in this matter.

PRAYER OF ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR

I now invite anyone who wants to become a new creation by walking in the truth, to pray with me as follows :

Lord Jesus, I have long walked in the lusts of the world ignoring your love for humans. I acknowledge that I have sinned against you and ask forgiveness for all my sins, because today I have decided to give you my life by taking you as my Lord and personal Savior. I acknowledge that you died on the cross of Calvary and that you rose from the dead for me.

I am now saved and born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead me each day to eternal life you give to all who obey your Word. Reveal to me and strengthen my heart and my faith so that your light may shine in my life right now.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for accepting me in your divine family so that I too can contemplate the wonders of your kingdom.

I will now choose a nearby waterpoint to baptize myself by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

To you all adoration, power, and glory, now and forever and ever. Amen!

I would be glad to revert on  your queries and comments as necessary, before sharing with you tomorrow about the spiritual life.

May the Almighty Lord God bless you in abundance.

David Feze, Servant of the Lord of hosts.
