Beloved, I am glad to share with you today on the next window of the temple of truth, namely the spiritual vision. Vision is a phenomenon closely related to the dream, a normal path of divine revelation. Indeed, men have seen in dreams real manifestations: God visited and visits always and positively, the sleeper and the dream events were to be accomplished. Also, those who dreamed frequently were regarded as intermediaries of divine energy.
Remember the dreams of the young Joseph, who were going to make his brothers jealous to the point that he was sold to the slave traders. Yet it was in God’s plan that it was so, in order to make him the governor of all Egypt and thereby, to save this powerful country and many others from a serious famine that would last seven years.
Hence the importance of the warning given by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 6.22-23, on the necessity of going out of darkness: “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is in good condition, your whole body will be enlightened; 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great will be this darkness! “
Let’s look at the understanding of the two verses above in relation to the lives of humans and especially in their daily behavior, understanding that it is the eye that allows us to see, whether we are awake or asleep.
PRELIMINARY CONSIDERATIONS
At first sight, the dream appears as rather the form and the vision the content. Yet the dream only takes place during the night and the vision both day and night. However, the following verses seem to equate them: Daniel 1.17 “God granted to these four young men knowledge, understanding in all the letters, and wisdom; and Daniel explained all visions and dreams. “
Daniel 2.28 “But there is in the heavens a God who reveals secrets, and who has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the course of time. This is your dream and the visions you had on your bed. “;
Daniel 4.5 “I had a dream that made me afraid. As I was lying in my bed,the images and visions that passed through my mind terrified me.”
For the first prophets, the vision was above all a means that God used to make his will known; the revelation was essentially interior and moral: Isaiah 1.1 “The prophecy of Isaiah the son of Amoz concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.” 1 Samuel 3.1 “The young Samuel was at the service of the Lord before Eli. The word of the LORD was rare at that time, the visions were not frequent. ” Psalms 89.20 “Then you spoke in a vision to your beloved, and said, I have helped a hero, I have brought a young man out of the midst of the people;”
In the New Testament, we find the allusion of Saul (Paul) to the vision he had in Acts 9.4-6: “He fell to the ground, and he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? 5 He answered, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute. It would be hard for you to kick against the pricks. 6 Trembling, and terrified, he said, Lord, what do you want me to do? And the Lord said to him, “Arise, go into the city, and they will tell you what you must do.”
And if that eye is healthy, pure and not looking from two sides at once, then your whole body will be abundantly lit. But if your eye is sick, dark, or mean, then your whole body will be dark. Now, there is in you an organ that receives light from above, as the eye receives that of the sun: it is the heart which, enlightened by truth and true love, must make its choice between treasures of the earth and those of heaven. But if the eye is bad, this organ is dark, and the whole body remains in darkness.
I. WHAT YOU NEED TO PERFORM
- to acquire the spiritual vision:
It is given in answer to the prayer 2 Kings 6.17 “Elisha prayed, and said, O LORD, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the servant, who saw the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha. “
-passing through the afflictions that prepare for the spiritual vision: Job 42.5 “My ear had heard of you; But now my eye has seen you. “Isaiah 29.18:” In that day the deaf will hear the words of the book; And, delivered from darkness and darkness, the eyes of the blind will see. “
-to have the purity of the heart that is essential to the spiritual vision: Mat 5.8 “Blessed are those who have a pure heart, for they will see God!”;
-Only believers have the spiritual vision: John 14.19 “Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you, you will see me, because I live, and you will live also. “
-The Holy Spirit is the author of the spiritual vision: John 16: 14-15 “He will glorify me, because he will take of what is mine, and will announce it to you.
15 All that the Father has is mine; that is why I said that he takes from what is mine, and that he will announce it to you.
-the spiritual vision uses the telescope of faith: Heb 11.27 “By faith he left Egypt without being afraid of the wrath of the king; for he was steadfast, seeing him who is invisible. “
– to have the spiritual enlightenment: Psa 18.29 “Yes, you make my light shine; The LORD my God lighteth my darkness. ” Psa 119.130 “The revelation of your words illuminates, It gives intelligence to the simple.”; Pro 29.13 “The poor and the oppressor meet; It is the LORD who enlightens the eyes of one and the other. ” Isaiah 29.18 “In that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book; And, delivered from darkness and darkness, the eyes of the blind will see. ” Isaiah 60:19 “No longer shall the sun be your light during the day, nor the moon that will shine on you with its light; But the LORD will be your light forever, your God will be your glory. “2 Corinthians 4.6” For God, who said, The light will shine from the bosom of darkness! made the light shine in our hearts to make the knowledge of the glory of God shine forth on the face of Christ. “; 1 Peter 2.9 “You, on the contrary, are an elected race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, an established people, that you may preach the virtues of him who has called you from darkness to his admirable light.”
-Open eyes: Gen 21.19 “And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; she went to fill the water with water, and gave the child a drink. ” Name 22.31 “And the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and Balaam saw the angel of Jehovah standing in the way with his sword drawn in his hand; and he bowed, and bowed himself on his face. ” 2 Kings 6.17 “And Elisha prayed, and said, Yahweh, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the servant, who saw the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha. ” Luke 24.31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; but he disappeared from before them. “
-the eyes must be protected from evil: Psa 119.37 “Turn away my eyes from the sight of vain things, Make me live in your way!”; Pro 4:25 “Let your eyes look in the face, And let your eyelids go before you”; Isaiah 33:15 “He who walks in righteousness, and who speaks righteousness, who despises a profit acquired by extortion, who shakes his hands not to accept a present, who closes his ear not to hear bloody words, and who blindfolded himself not to see evil, “; Mat 5.29 “If your right eye is an occasion for you to fall, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is profitable for you that one of your members should perish, and your whole body should not be thrown into hell. “
-seeing God: Gen 32.31 “The sun was rising when he passed Peniel. Jacob was limping on his hip. ” Exo 24.10 “They saw the God of Israel; under his feet it was like a work of transparent sapphire, like the sky itself in its purity. ” Judges 13.22 “And he said to his wife, We are going to die, for we have seen God.” Job 42.5 “My ear had heard of you; But now my eye has seen you. ” Psa 141.8 “It is to you, O Lord, Lord! My eyes turn, I seek refuge with you, Do not abandon my soul! ” Isaiah 33.17 “Thy eyes shall see the king in his magnificence, and shall behold the land in all its extent.” John 14.9 “Jesus said to him, It is so long since I was with you, and you did not know me, Philip! He who has seen me has seen the Father; How do you say, Show us the Father? “
-appearances of God to man: Gen 12.7 “And Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said, I will give this land to thy seed. And Abram built there an altar to Jehovah, which appeared to him. ” Gen 17.1 “And when Abram was ninety-nine years old, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am God Almighty. Walk before my face, and be blameless. ” Gen 26.2 “And Jehovah appeared unto him, saying, Go not down to Egypt, dwell in the land which I will speak unto you.” 2 Ch 3.1 “And Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem, in mount Moriah, which was revealed to David his father, in the place prepared by David in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. “
– to have spiritual discernment: 1 Kings 3.9 “Give your servant an intelligent heart to judge your people, to discern good from evil! For who could judge your people, so many people? ” 1 Cor 2:14 “But the animal man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he can not know them, because they are spiritually judged.”
2. the light is promised:
-to those who obey: Ps. 97.11 “The light is sown for the righteous, and the joy for those whose heart is upright.”;
-to the upright men: Psa 112.4 “The light rises in the darkness for the upright, for the one who is merciful, compassionate and just.”
-the righteous ones: Pro 4.18 “The simple share foolishness, and the prudent men make science a crown.”;
-Benefits: Isaiah 58.8 “Then shall your light be as the dawn, and your healing shall sprout quickly; Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will accompany you. “
-to the Church of the future: Isaiah 60.20 “Your sun will not go down, and your moon will not darken; For the LORD will be your light forever, and the days of your mourning will be past. “
– to the disciples of Christ: John 8.12 “Jesus spoke to them again, and said, I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but he will have the light of life. ” 1 John 2.10 “He who loves his brother abides in the light, and no occasion of falling is in him.”
3. the duties of the believers accomplished in the light:
-to worship: 2 Ch 5.13-14 “and when those who sounded trumpets and those who sang, joining together to celebrate and to praise the LORD, sounded the trumpets, the cymbals, and the other instruments, and praised the LORD with these words, “For he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever. At that moment the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud. 14 And the priests could not stay there to minister, because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God. “
-working: John 9.4 “I must do, while it is day, the works of him that sent me; the night comes, where no one can work. “
-to fight: Rom 13.12 “The night is late, the day is approaching. Let us take away the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light. “
-to walk: Eph 5.8 “In the past you were darkness, and now you are light in the Lord. Walk like children of light! “
-to testfy: “Php 2.15” so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God blameless in the midst of a perverse and corrupt generation, among whom you shine like torches in the world, “
II. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO AVOID THE ATTITUDES HIGHLIGHTED BELOW
It is recommended not to miss the opportunity to save one’s soul to enter into the joy of the kingdom of God:
- avoid spiritual blindness Mat 15.14 “Leave them alone: they are blind men who lead blind men; if a blind man leads a blind man, they will both fall into a pit. “
-Examples of blindness: Mat 6.23 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is in good condition, your whole body will be illuminated “; Mat 15.14 “Leave them: they are blind men who lead blind men; if a blind man leads a blind man, they will both fall into a pit. ” 1 John 2.11 “But he who hates his brother is in darkness, walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes.”
Healed blindness: Matt 12.22 “So they brought him a demoniac blind and dumb, and he healed him, so that the dumb spoke and saw.” Mat 21.14 “The blind and the lame approached him in the temple. And he heals them. ” Luke 7:21 “At that very hour Jesus healed many people from diseases, infirmities, and evil spirits, and he restored sight to many blind men.” John 9:11 “Jesus saw, by the way, a blind man by birth.11 He answered, The man called Jesus made mud, anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to the reservoir of Silo, and wash. I went there, washed, and got my sight back. “
2. reject the spiritual darkness:
John 1.5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not received it”; John 3:19 “And this judgment is, that when light came into the world, men preferred darkness to light, because their deeds were evil.” John 16.3 “And they shall do so, because they have not known the Father or me.” Rom 1.28 “As they did not care to know God, God delivered them to their reprehensible senses, to commit unworthy things,”; 2 Peter 3.5 “They want to ignore, in fact, that heaven once existed by the word of God, as well as a land drawn from water and formed by means of water.”
In the light of the above, it is important to ensure that the eye remains the lamp of our body and that our heart that hears the voice from God, can always guide us in the choice to be made to have the spiritual vision. ; to ask the Eternal God for spiritual discernment and to definitively turn our backs on the spiritual darkness that can only distance us from salvation. Our prayers encourage you in your efforts in this direction, by the grace of God.
PRAYER OF ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR
I now invite anyone who wants to become a new creation by walking in the truth, to pray with me as follows :
Lord Jesus, I have long walked in the lusts of the world ignoring your love for humans. I acknowledge that I have sinned against you and ask forgiveness for all my sins, because today I have decided to give you my life by taking you as my Lord and personal Savior. I acknowledge that you died on the cross of Calvary and that you rose from the dead for me.
I am now saved and born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead me each day to eternal life you give to all who obey your Word. Reveal to me and strengthen my heart and my faith so that your light may shine in my life right now.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for accepting me in your divine family so that I too can contemplate the wonders of your kingdom.
