Beloved, I am glad to share with you today the above theme from Ps 93:1 and following. Indeed, God’s great works and very deep thoughts are the inexhaustible subjects of the worship of the redeemed (Ps 40:1-6). But the man who does not recognize the Creator in his works is in the eyes of God stupid and foolish. The wicked and the just bloom both. But only the second bears fruit. Because the grass grows and blooms in one season, then it dries and it is mowed, including its flower. Such is the fate of the wicked, they perish (1 Pet 1:22-25). While the just one looks like the palm tree or cedar of Lebanon. How long does it take to bring these beautiful trees to their full stature! But the righteous have their place in the forecourt of God’s temple and thrive there to his glory. Then Psalm 93 reminds us that the power of God is older (He is “from eternity”) and greater than the power of the Enemy. The waves of the sea tell us of the turmoil of the world (Isaiah 57:19-21; Ps 89:8-10). His Word can be trusted: His testimonies are very sure.

‘Jehovah reigns’ We see here that in the power of God we are shown matter of trust; for the fact of not investing God with the power that belongs to him, and of stripping him of his authority, is the source of this fear and trembling that we feel very often. We do not dare to do this openly, but if we were well persuaded of its invincible power, it would be for us an invincible support against all the assaults of temptation. For all admit in words what the prophet teaches here, that God reigns; but how many are there who oppose this shield to the hostile powers of the world, as it is up to them to do, so that they do not fear anything so terrible? In this, therefore, consists the glory of God: he governs humanity according to his will. It is said that he is clothed in majesty and strength; not that we should imagine that there is something in him that derives from another, but he is destined by effect and unmistakable experience to show his wisdom and justice in the government of humanity.

Then the psalmist proves that God will not neglect or abandon the world, because he created it. For a study of the world alone should suffice to attest to a divine Providence: The heavens rotate every day, and, as immense as their fabric is, and the speed of their revolutions, we do not experience any disturbance in the harmony of their movement. The sun, although varying its course with each diurnal revolution, returns every year to the same point. The planets, in all their wanderings, maintain their respective positions. How could the earth be suspended in the air if it was not supported by the hand of God? By what means could he keep himself motionless, while the heavens above are in constant and rapid motion, has his divine Creator not fixed and established him? Yes, he established it.

The following verses have been compiled for your edification and grouped together for your better understanding.

It is the Lord who is king! :

·         Majesty of God

Ps 93:1 The Lord reigns, he is clothed with majesty, the Lord is clothed, he is surrounded by force. Also the world is firm, it does not falter.  Ps 96:6 Splendor and magnificence are before his face, Glory and majesty are in his sanctuary.  Isa 2:10 Enter the rocks, and hide in the dust, To avoid the terror of the Lord and the brilliance of his majesty.  Isaiah 57:15 For thus speaks the Most High, Whose abode is eternal and whose name is holy: I dwell in high places and in holiness; But I am with the contrite and humiliated man, In order to revive the humiliated minds, In order to revive the contrite hearts.  Mi 5:3 He will present himself, and he will rule with the strength of Jehovah, with the majesty of the name of Jehovah, his God: And they will have an assured abode, for he will be glorified to the ends of the earth.

·         Sovereignty of God, the throne of God, symbol of

Ps 45:7 Your throne, O God, is forever; The scepter of your reign is a scepter of fairness.  Ps 103:19 Jehovah has established His throne in heaven, and His reign dominates over all things.  Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the Lord: Heaven is my throne, and earth my stepping stone. What house could you build me, and what place would you give me as your home?  Rev 4.2 Immediately I was delighted in spirit. And behold, there was a throne in heaven, and on that throne someone was sitting.  Rev 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne, and the one who sat on it. The earth and the sky fled before his face, and there was no more room for them.

·         House of God, general references

Ps 134:1 Song of degrees. Behold, bless The Lord, all of you servants of Jehovah, Who you hold in the house of Jehovah during the nights!  Isaiah 2:3 People will go there in crowds, and say, Come, and ascend to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways, and that we may walk in his paths. For from Zion will come out the law, and from Jerusalem the word of the Lord.  Isa 60:7 The flocks of Kedar shall all gather in your home; The rams of Nebajoth will be at your service; They will ascend to my altar and be pleasing to me, and I will glorify the house of my glory.  Lk 19:46 telling them: It is written: My house will be a house of prayer. But you have turned it into a cave of thieves.  John 2:16 and he said to the pigeon sellers: Take this from here, do not make my Father’s house a house of traffic.

·          Ordained Holiness

Ex 19:6 you will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words you will say to the children of Israel.  2 Cor 7:1 Having therefore such promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from every defilement of the flesh and spirit, completing our sanctification in the fear of God.  Hb 12:14 Seek peace with all, and sanctification, without which no one will see the Lord.  1 Pet 1:16 You will be holy, for I am holy.  2 Pet 3:11 Since all these things must dissolve, what must not be the holiness of your conduct and your piety,

From all of the above, we note that “holiness befits his home.” We can’t stand dirt or mess at home. Let’s understand that all the more so the holy God cannot tolerate sin in his house, which today is the Assembly (2 Cor 6:14-7:1).  Here we have the language of the people, anticipating in turn the same thousand-year-old kingdom. He addresses the king, his Messiah, celebrating his glorious power in some of his broad strokes: first the defeat of his enemies;  then the stability of his throne;  and finally the holiness of his house, or his government. This is whythis psalm introduces the great subjects that are found in more detail in the following psalms.  In fact, Ps 93-100 concerns the establishmentof Christ in relation to his people: Thus, Ps 93 announces the great and blessed results of the final intervention of God in power.  For the Lord reigns. Certainly his throne was established from eternity;  the rivers had raised their voices; the waves moaning of ungodly men had been heard, only the Lord, in the high places, was more powerful than all of them. Two other great principles complete this short, but remarkable summary of the entire history of God’s government toward man: “The testimonies of Jehovah are very sure.” Whatever may happen, faith can count on them. On the other hand, another great truth about God’s character emerges: “Holiness befits the house of God.” But it is worth looking at this as describing the holiness that suits the house of God during the final period of which these Psalms speak and for which the earth was established. Then, in the next Psalm, come the details of the coming of the Only Begotten Son into the world, in order to establish the glory and order according to God, to which the request of the remnant of Israel serves as an introduction.  Our prayers are with you all.

PRAYER OF ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR

I now invite every person who wants to become a new creation by walking in the truth, to pray with me the following prayer:

Lord Jesus, I have long walked in the lusts of the world ignoring your love for humans. I admit to having sinned against you and ask your forgiveness for all my sins, because today I have decided to give you my life by taking you as Lord and personal Savior. I recognize that you died on the cross of Calvary and rose from the dead for me.

I am now saved and born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead me every day to the eternal life that you give to all who obey your Word. Reveal yourself to me and strengthen my heart and faith, so that your light may shine in my life right now.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for accepting me into your divine family, so that I may also contemplate the wonders of your kingdom.

I will now choose a nearby waterpoint to baptize myself by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

All adoration, power and glory are yours, now and forever and ever. Amen!

I would be happy to respond to any questions and comments you may have, before sharing with you tomorrow, “Sing a new hymn to the Lord.”

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly.

David Feze, Servant of the Almighty God.
