Beloved, I am glad to share with you today, on the characteristics of the spiritual fight. It is important to note that in spiritual battles, the necessary forces and weapons should be sought only in the Lord and in the strength of his power that we have in his Word.

What then are the characteristics of the spiritual struggle?

It’s an inner battle: Romans 7: 22-23 “22  For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.”

We know, indeed, that the Christian is liberated from the law through his death with Christ, for our liberation from sin under the reign of grace, will establish our freedom from the law.

They are spiritual weapons : 2 Corinthians 10.4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”

Indeed, the weapons used are not merely human, because they hold their powers from God who makes them capable of overthrowing fortresses and false reasoning,  as well as all things that stand against God’s knowledge.

They are invisible enemies : Ephesians 6: 12 ” For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

This is why we must endorse the armor that God gives to be able to resist the bad day and hold until the end, after having done everything possible.

They are young engaged soldiers: 1 Timothy  1.18 “Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well,” The Christian is invited to fight the good fight with faith and with this good conscience.

It’s a fight of faith: 1 Timothy 6.12 ” Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” This struggle is carried on within to preserve and increase all the precious graces, as the object of a holy ambition; outside against the enemies of the truth and against the world.

It’s the requirement of total consecration :

2 Timothy 2.4 ” No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.”

That is to say that the servant of Jesus Christ should, in order to please the Chief, to give him all his time, all his forces, and even his life, to be embarrassed by the things of this world, by business that is  foreign to his vocation.

Hebrews 10.32 “Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.”

For sometimes you have been publicly exposed to insults and ill-treatment, some other times you have become in solidarity with those who were treated in this way.

Revelation 12.17 ” Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”

As the Judeo-Christian Church has escaped prosecution, Satan will go to war against the rest of his children who will also keep the commandments of God and have retained Jesus’ testimony.

Our prayers are for your efforts in understanding the spiritual fight.

PRAYER OF ACCEPTANCE OF JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND PERSONAL SAVIOR

I now invite anyone who wants to become a new creation by walking in the truth, to pray with me as follows :

Lord Jesus, I have long walked in the lusts of the world ignoring your love for humans. I acknowledge that I have sinned against you and ask forgiveness for all my sins, because today I have decided to give you my life by taking you as my Lord and personal Savior. I acknowledge that you died on the cross of Calvary and that you rose from the dead for me.

I am now saved and born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead me each day to eternal life you give to all who obey your Word. Reveal to me and strengthen my heart and my faith so that your light may shine in my life right now.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for accepting me in your divine family so that I too can contemplate the wonders of your kingdom.

I will now choose a nearby waterpoint to baptize myself by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

To you all adoration, power, and glory, now and forever and ever. Amen!

I would be glad to revert on your queries and comments as necessary, before sharing next week on the divine promises to those who win temptation.

May the Almighty Lord God  bless you in abundance.

David Feze, Servant of the Lord of armies.
