Beloved, I am glad to share with you today an important word of our Lord Jesus Christ found in Matthew 4:4 read as follows: “But he answered and said, it is written; Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”

In the story of Jesus’ test, the devil tried to get him playing the magician’s role which required supernatural powers to address his own needs, whereby God’s will for him was different at that moment. In fact, he believed that he could bring Jesus to check and balance between God’s kingdom and the seduction of a power able to solve all problems by a magic stick.

But it is worth mentioning that man’s salvation does not reside only in the satisfaction of material needs, or in the mastering of the nature forces, or the establishing of a universal political authority. So, Jesus opposes to the devil’s tricks the Word of God. That’s why after being put to test himself in his sufferings, he was able to assist all those who were tested. However the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished the miracle of bread multiplication to feed those who were listening to his teaching. So, which father could give a stone to his child asking him for some bread? Or, if he ask for fish, would he give him a snake?

So, when the devil provokes him, he turns to the heavenly Father who, he knows, will give him some bread and not a stone. As a matter of fact, when the devil failed to test him, he left and angels brought food to Jesus.

Moreover, when God took his people out of Egypt, he could feed them with manna falling from heaven, reminding them that man does not not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from his mouth, for implementing the word of God equals to being fed spiritually by the Almighty God.

As a matter of fact, it is written in Psalms 119:103 that: ” How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” This because the Word of God worth than any pearl and than all valuable items. And about its judgements it is written in Psalms 19:10 that “They are more precious than gold; than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey from the comb”. Indeed, this is the glory in heaven and in His word for gold is the symbol of wealth and honey the softest food that rejoices the heart. And the hear should be kept more than everything, for from there come all sources of life.

That’s why wisdom that provides the word of God is thoroughly tested, for founded on justice and faithfulness. And we recall that Jesus was righteous and faithful throughout his life, and he received glory from God.

The divine justice is therefore an eternal justice and its law the truth. It’s a lamp on the way of the one who fears God and His commandments are light and warnings in his daily life.

Furthermore, Prophet Jeremiah in chapter 15 verse 16 said “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, o Lord God Almighty.” Moreover, it written in Ezekiel 3:3 that:” then he said to me, Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving to you and fill your stomach with it”. So I ate it, and it tasted as weet as honey in my mouth.

And Job did understand the Lord God very well when he said in Job 23:12 that “I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.”

As you have noted, such a submissiveness attitude could only made the Lord God to strengthen and bless the people of Israel, and also to severely stricke them in case of disobedience.

Finally, the soul of man is nourrished by the word of God which a food that is softer than honey. It allows everyone to spiritually grow for his glory.

Our prayers are for you to learn how to live from any word of God.
